I posted a status to facebook yesterday about how sad the situation in Gaza is & how my thoughts were with them, & many of my facebook friends (even my parents) have judged me for it. I don’t mean this to sound like I’m trying to slam on the Bible, because I’m not - while I’m not religious, I do believe in God and I do believe that everything happening today reflects on Revelations. However, I also believe in humanity and what Israel is doing is wrong. So many people support Israel simply because the Bible is telling them to… but I’m sure God doesn’t support the murder of innocent people. Yet when I posted about my support for the people of Gaza, I was criticized. My parents told me that they were disappointed in me for not backing Israel. But do I regret it? Absolutely not. Many choose to overlook the fact that what’s going on is inhumane simply because they feel they should support Israel. I will not change my opinion because someone disagrees, and I will pray nightly for the innocent people of both Palestine and Israel, and that this conflict will soon be resolved. Religion shouldn’t be what rules everyone’s feelings of this conflict - humanity should. God bless them all.
